01 · The service
A one-year remote work residence, filed with the GDRFA.
The virtual work visa is a one-year residence visa from Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). It can be renewed, and you sponsor yourself: there is no UAE employer behind it.
We take care of the application from start to finish. We check your eligibility, prepare and review your documents, and submit the file through the official government system. You do not need to visit an office.
When the GDRFA approves the file, your residence is issued electronically. Your spouse and children can then be sponsored under the same programme.

05 · What it is
What is the UAE virtual work visa?
A one-year residence for people whose job stays outside the UAE.
The virtual work visa lets people whose employer is based abroad live in Dubai and keep doing their job remotely. The GDRFA issues it for one year, it can be renewed, and it needs neither a UAE employment contract nor a local sponsor.
It suits remote employees, freelancers and company owners with earnings of USD 3,500 or more each month and health cover that is valid in the UAE. Once approved, you live in the country legally, can bring eligible family members onto your file for the same period and can use everyday services as a resident.
It does not give you a right to work in the UAE job market. Its purpose is to let you live in Dubai while your employment stays abroad.

08 · How it is processed
What happens to your application.
The GDRFA runs a set procedure for this visa. These are the stages every file goes through.

Filed through an approved channel
Applications are submitted on the GDRFA smart services, with a UAE Pass login, or through an authorised Amer centre. We file online for you.

Documents and compliance check
The GDRFA checks your passport validity, proof of remote work, income and health insurance. If anything is missing or does not meet the rules, it has to be fixed before the file goes any further.

Status review and security clearance
As with every UAE residence application, the file goes through identity and security checks by the GDRFA and the ICP.

Fees and approval
The government fees are worked out automatically when the file is submitted. Once approved, you get one year of residence.

Results sent digitally
The entry permit and the residence visa are issued electronically. You can see them on the GDRFA platform or receive them by email or SMS.

Where the application is filed.
Only official UAE government channels can process a virtual work visa: the GDRFA’s own platforms, or an Amer centre authorised by the government.
